Local trail builder Brent Thomson and associates have created an extensive network of both cross-country and downhill-specific trails (including Elevator Shaft's 22 percent grade!) that have been hailed as some of the best in the nation. Nevada Southern Railway Train Rides
The Nevada Southern Railway train runs each Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The train departs from the depot at 600 Yucca Street. Call 486-5933 for further info.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
A geologic wonderland filled with an array of plant and animal life. BLM manages this area, providing a 13 mile scenic loop drive, a visitor center, picnic areas and hiking trails. 60 miles from Boulder City West on Charleston Blvd. and Nevada Highway 159. Only 1 hour and 30 minutes away.
