This episode of The Best Dam Podcast features, Michael Mays and Courtney Mooney.

Michael is the Director of Community Development for Boulder City government, and is a passionate advocate for it historic preservation, and he collaborates with the state to access valuable resources that further enhance Boulder City's historic preservation efforts.

Courtney is a professional working for the City of Boulder City as a historic preservation officer. Her primary responsibility is reviewing applications for new construction or additions on historic properties and ensuring they comply with relevant guidelines and standards. While her team also oversees federal projects for the protection of historic properties, their main focus and dedication lie in serving Boulder City.

 What role does the Historic Preservation Committee play in preserving the character and history of Boulder City?

4. How does the availability of professional expertise and incentives alleviate financial burdens on businesses in the historic district?

 Why is it important for community members to communicate, seek out information, and stay involved in the preservation efforts of their city?

 What economic benefits are associated with historic preservation, such as increased property values and heritage tourism?

5. How can the city better inform potential property owners about preservation regulations and guidelines before they purchase a home?
