State of NV Tax Amnesty Program

The 31st Special Session of the Nevada Legislature enacted Senate Bill 3, which provides for a one-time tax amnesty program for businesses or individuals doing business in Nevada who may have an existing tax liability. The amnesty period will begin February 1, 2021 and ends on May 1, 2021. Businesses or individuals may pay the delinquent tax online using a credit card or debit card or by sending a check by mail, please see instructions in the link below.

Industrial Review Bonds Available via State of Nevada

Industrial Development Revenue Bonds (IDRBs) are a type of tax-exempt municipal bond/public debt instrument. Proceeds are utilized by private manufacturing companies interested in locating a facility in Nevada or expanding an existing Nevada-based business.

 

These bonds, issued by the Nevada Department of Business & Industry, are structured to assist a borrower achieve the lowest cost of capital. The size of the expansion, the number of new jobs created, and high wages are important factors in weighing the approval of the application along with the ability of the applicant to pay back the bonds. Dam Short Film Festival Goes Virtual

Launching February 11, 2021, the Dam Short Film Society is proudly taking the 17th Annual Festival online as a virtual event. Offering all the great qualities of past festivals – including excellent and diverse programming, filmmaker Q&As, and scheduled virtual events that give audiences and filmmakers the opportunity to mix, mingle and learn more about these original and unique stories from around the world.

 

Growing despite the pandemic, this year’s 5-day Dam Short Film Festival will premiere and screen 162 short films, broken down into 26 thematic 60- to 75-minute program blocks with categories including Animation, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Horror, International, Love & Romance, Music Videos, Nevada, Sci-Fi and Underground – all on-demand, from the comfort of your couch!


All-access household passes to the entire Festival are available for $100, while household tickets to individual program blocks can be purchased for $12 each. For more information and to purchase passes, visit

Nevada's Plan for Recovery & Resilience 

The Nevada Department of Business and Industry has outlined the plan for recovery of Nevada's economy. The plan focuses on these components:

 

▪ An economic forecast on the situation expected for Nevada in the fall of 2021

▪ A series of immediate actions, with a particular focus on “Main Street” and small and medium sized businesses

▪ A set of visionary strategies that will accelerate the diversification of the state’s economy

▪ An inventory of necessary capabilities that must be developed or upgraded in order to realize the vision of a diversified, innovative, and sustainable economy.
